Maximize your vision through the use of contact lenses by booking a contact lens fitting. A contact lens evaluation will help clarify all questions pertaining to eye-health care and your contacts. This evaluation differs from the annual routine eye exam. The Optometrist will provide a careful fitting of the lens to the eye, as well provide detailed information regarding storing, cleaning and handling of contacts. A follow-up visit is also included with the contact lens fitting process and is usually scheduled one to two weeks after the original fitting.*
* The follow-up visit differs per patient and dependent upon the contact lenses selected.
Soft lenses require almost no physical adaptation. For most individuals, full-time wear is achieved quickly and effortlessly. These lenses have become the standard for type of contact lens since these lenses are comfortable difficult to dislodge and don’t easily allow for dust to get underneath. These soft lenses can be used as dailies or extended wear.
As the name implies these lenses are firm and do not contain water. This hard material lens has a longer adaptation period compared to the soft lens, but once adaptation is complete most individuals can wear the lens with comfort and safety. Rigid lenses are better optically but less comfortable. A rigid lens can be designed in virtually any size, shape, and prescription.
Disposable lenses are now the new best thing for contact lens (C.L.) users. Disposables help eliminate eye complications from c.l., such as sleeping with the lens and most of the time help with discomfort and dryness. Disposables are mostly a soft lens concept, but since hydrogel lens generally deteriorate more rapidly than rigid lenses, there are many designs and materials for daily lenses now. We currently offer daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual contact lens replacement programs.
Generally as a person ages they need to get a progressive or bifocal pair of glasses so they can see in the distance and near. There are many multifocal c.l. that can be used to replace the use of bifocal glasses. Fitting a patient for multifocal lenses does take time but has been very successful in providing distance and near vision.
We provide color contact lenses for individuals that want to enhance or change their eye color. We have the old color c.l. for those who are comfortable with those but we also have the newest type of colored lenses that provide better comfort, breathability, wetting and moisture.
